The connection between Reverend Guitars and guitarist Greg Koch has yielded quite a few guitars in time, but none exactly like this! Building on the Greg Koch Gristlemaster designs, the Gristle 90 offers a new frontier for players to explore with Reverend standby specs and new features galore.
The Greg Koch Gristle 90 starts with a Korina body and three-piece Korina neck. Carefully chambered for maximized resonance and effortless handling, the Gristle 90’s single-cutaway body is easily held in hand. The Korina neck’s Medium Oval profile will feel familiar to fans of Reverend. Loaded into the Gristle 90 are two Fishman P90 pickups. These pickups were designed in collaboration with Reverend’s Joe Naylor to capture the sound of Reverend’s custom designed 9A5 P90 pickups to retain that key Reverend sound. Additional electronics land with these P90s including a push/pull mid-range boost phase switch for extra tonal shaping and a USB port to keep the pickups charged and lively. Atop all of these innovations, Reverend has added in a Bigsby B-50 tailpiece with a roller bridge. Work some deep bends in your playing and still have the tuning stability to play your best with this tailpiece and Reverend’s pin-lock tuners.
