This is a 2017 Fender Custom 1963 Journeyman Relic Telecaster. A 2017 NAMM exclusive, this guitar features a double-bound 2-piece select alder body finished in Burgundy Mist. The body received the Journeyman relic package, while the hardware received the Closet Classic package.
The neck is a heavy relic Quartersawn maple “C” shape, with a 9.5″ radius rosewood fingerboard and 6105 frets.
This Tele has plenty of pop and spank, but also has a great cleanup thanks in part to the Greasebucket tone circuit. The heavy relic neck allows for easy access up and down the fretboard.
A double-bound, Burgundy Mist Telecaster is certainly eye-catching, but it’ll catch the rest of you once you plug it in. Whether rock, country, blues, or jazz, this NAMM Exclusive piece excels on all grounds.
