The Flatiron mandolins were founded in the mid 1970s and in 1987 Gibson acquired the brand and started making mandolins in their Bozeman Montana factory. In 1996 production moved to Nashville, Tennessee. This 1N’s serial dates to 1991 making it a Gibson era, Bozeman, Montana hand built instrument. The pancake body design is constructed from a sitka spruce top and maple back/sides. This mandolin also features a mahogany neck, ebony bridge, rosewood fingerboard, and three-piece headstock.
This Flatiron 1N Mandolin is in excellent condition and shows few signs of cosmetic use. The extent of the cosmetic wear is a few tiny hard to see scratches on the treble side of the top and two scratches on both sides of the headstock. Original hardshell case is included.
