This 1966 Fender Jaguar guitar features an alder body with a very prominent 3-tone finish. The finish has a strong black border that blends into an immediate red stripe that fades out to yellow. The strong red outline of the Fender Jaguar Sunburst guitar has become known as the “Clown Burst”.
The rosewood fingerboard is very dark with a nice tight grain. Fenders “C” neck profile leans towards the skinner side allowing the player to wrap their thumb around the shoulder with no effort. The jaguar pickups have that classic 60″s style twang when using the bridge pickup but adding in the neck pickup gives a deeper wider tone when using both clean and overdrive settings.
This vintage Fender 1966 Jaguar Solid Body Electric Guitar, 3 Color Sunburst is in very good condition. The body shows signs of dings and dents. The guitar has spent most of its life in a Parker bodyguard which has left a ring around the body. Some dings and dents can be seen across the neck but otherwise its very clean. Both the front and back of the headstock show signs of checking. Fenders neck binding has held tight through the years and has turned to a faint yellow. Frets are low but still have plenty of life left in them.
The original black tolex hard shell case has held up well over the years with little to no wear and fully functional latches.
