From the Fender Custom Shop comes this Vintge Custom ’55 Stratocaster in wide fade two-tone sunburst. The Vintage Custom series styles new instruments off of their respective earliest periods of production – some based off jurassic, prototypical designs. On this particular guitar, we see a wide fade two tone sunburst finish, which is rarely seen on a ’50s Stratocaster. For the neck, this Strat sports a 1954 U-shape neck – a profile often seen on early Telecasters.
Plugged in, this Custom Shop Strat is bright and articulate, much like a legit ’50s design would be. Key features include a two piece ash body, gloss back maple neck, and a 7.25-9.5″ compound radius fingerboard – which, according to Fender, has been discovered on original Stratocasters, though very seldom. Electronically, the handwired bridge pickup is wide open, and middle and neck pickups each have their own tone control.
Rounding out this guitar are Closet Classic hardware, non-aged plastic material, and Jescar FW50085 medium vintage frets. This is an incredibly unique Stratocaster ready for its first home outside of Russo Music.
